What is the directory?
The WSB website directory displays information about current faculty, staff, and students (PhD and graduate). Each person has their own "profile page". Directory data automatically feeds in from a variety of databases. Information is not updated manually by the web team. The web team cannot change or edit Human Resources data; you must submit an HR directory request and HR will work with you.
Name, job title, and department
Name, job title, and department feed in from Human Resources. Job titles and departments are the bolded items immediately under your name. If you have a request regarding name, job title, or department, submit an HR directory request.
Other HR data
The following data also pulls in from Human Resources. If you have a change, submit an HR directory request.
- Phone
- Office
Photos
Headshot photos are added by the web team. Schedule a headshot with Paul Newby, WSB's photographer. Paul will send the headshots to the web team and the web team will put them on the website-- you don't have to submit a separate web ticket. Photos must be taken by a professional photographer.
Faculty expertise information
The following faculty information feeds in from Watermark if entered by the faculty member:
- Administrative Position (e.g. a center director position)
- Named Chair
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Website
- Teaching Website
- SSRN
- Areas of expertise
- Biography
- Teaching
- Research
- Service
- Media
Faculty are responsible for updating their own Watermark. If you need help with Watermark, please reach out to its administrator: Joanie Bonazza, Faculty Governance Admin.
If your Watermark data isn't displaying on the directory and you believe it should, it's possible you are set as type "staff" instead of type "faculty" in the system. Reach out to Joanie Bonaza, Faculty Governance Admin, to ask to be switched to type "faculty" so your Watermark data pulls into the directory.
WSB Stories
If the Newsroom team writes an article about you, they will tag you in the article and it automatically pulls onto your directory profile page under "WSB Stories". This works for faculty or staff. Reach out to the writer of the article or the Communications director, Erin Ryan, if you think a tag was missed. (This is a new feature as of Fall 2024. Tags were retroactively added to some older articles, but not all, so if you want a tag on an older article reach out to the writer/Communications director.)
PhD students
The department for PhD students pulls in from Watermark.
Timing if you make a change
If you make a change to HR or Watermark data, please allow 24 hours for it to appear on the website.
Department faculty pages
There is a faculty page within each department section of the website. For example, Marketing Faculty. These pages automatically pull faculty from the directory based on department. So the only way for someone to appear on the Marketing Faculty page is if their type is "faculty" and their department is "Marketing" in the directory. Submit an HR directory request to add or change your department. If you think you should appear as faculty and are appearing as staff, reach out to Joanie Bonazza, Faculty Governance Admin.
