When leaving the Wisconsin School of Business for another job on-campus, off-campus, or retiring, there are several things to do before you leave.  Please note that in certain cases, access to content (e.g. Box files and folders) can remain up to 90 days following the final day of the employee.  If there is sensitive data shared, it is recommended that all shared content with the departing employee be unshared within 3 business days.

  • Keys: Turn in your keys to the Manager of Facility Services, Josh Crom, in room 1411 Grainger Hall by your last day of work.
  • Portable computing equipment: If you have a WSB owned desktop, iMac, laptop, or tablet (ie. Micorosft Surface, Apple iPad) the item(s) must be returned to ITS in room 4270 by your last day of work.
  • Phone number: Discuss with your supervisor on the preferred solution for your phone number. Options include:
  • Email: You have the choice to setup an out of office reply, or forward your email to another account. You cannot choose both.
  • Collaboration tools: Before leaving, make sure to transfer ownership of any collaborative folders to another individual or the appropriate project directory.
  • Qualtrics:
  • Deactivation timeline:
    • Your Grainger account will be closed at the end of your final day.
    • Email and collaboration tools deactivation timeline: You will receive several emails from DoIT informing you of the impending deactivation of services tied to your NetID. User accounts such as Office 365 and collaboration tools (Box, G-suite) are removed from the system after 90 days.

Student employee departures:  Inform HR, ITS, & FES of any student employee departures to coordinate the returning of keys and removal of WSB folder permissions (Q: drive or Box)
