When leaving the Wisconsin School of Business for another job on-campus, off-campus, or retiring, there are several things to do before you leave

  • Keys: Turn in your keys to the Director of Facility Services Tim Bent in room 1411 Grainger Hall
  • Portable computing equipment: If you have a WSB owned desktop, iMac, laptop, or tablet (ie. Micorosft Surface, Apple iPad) the item(s) must be returned to ITS in room 4270 by your last day of work.
  • Phone number: Discuss with your supervisor on the preferred solution for your phone number. Options include:
  • Email: You have the choice to setup an out of office reply, or forward your email to another account. You cannot choose both.
  • Collaboration tools: Before leaving, make sure to transfer ownership of any collaborative folders to another individual or the appropriate project directory
  • WSB Qualtrics:  If you have any surveys that you want to preserve, ITS can transfer the surveys to another WSB user. Email support@wsb.wisc.edu to facilitate this.
  • Deactivation timeline:
    • You Grainger account will be closed at the end of your last day
    • Email and collaboration tools deactivation timeline: You will receive several emails from DoIT informing you of the impending deactivation of services tied to your NetID. User accounts such as Office 365 and collaboration tools (Box, G-suite) are removed from the system after 90 days.

Student employee departures:  Inform HR, ITS, & FES of any student employee departures to coordinate the returning of keys and removal of WSB folder permissions (Q: drive or Box)
