When occupying space in the Wisconsin School of Business, you may require a physical key to access your assigned spaces. In order to acquire a key, please submit a Facilities Service Request via the WSB Solution Portal or email Fssupport@wsb.wisc.edu. Keys are only given to those who request them, so if you are ordering a key for someone else please note this in your request. Our Facilities Department does keep an inventory of keys on hand for convenience, but depending on availability, key requests may take 3-5 business days to fulfill.
Key Deposits
We do not require a deposit on your key however if new to our building we will require an initial signature to check the key out. This single signature will apply to any additional keys that are requested. Note: If you did pay a deposit on your key and you need to return it, please see the Financial Management Office for reimbursement.
Key Pick Up
Keys can be picked up at the facilities manager’s office 1411 which is located near the loading dock. This way the key is not lost and given to the right individual in need of the key.
Temporary Key Access
If the key requested is for temporary access to a space, we require that the Office Administrator request the key in which the key will be put under their name. This means that once the temporary user is done with the space, they will need to return the key to the Office Administrator that requested it.
Lost Key
If an occupant loses a key that is assigned to them, they must request a new one for access to their space. We do expect that if the lost key is found that it is turned into the Facilities Department. Replacement keys are free up to a quantity of 2. Any replacements that exceed this number may result in a charge to order the key. Note: Depending on the access capability of the lost key, occupants may be required to provide funding to re-key the door lock(s) that the specific key provided access to. This ensures that our spaces will remain secure/safe for future use.
